It’s that time of year again, he thought to himself. Ten years of stagnation dropped into a single bulleted list. A step by step instruction manual on how to pull himself together. A list of things too easy to forget. How did he get here? And how much longer did he have? He recalls previous attempts, serious attempts, at becoming this new person. More than the so called achievements what he remembered more was the misery. Not burn out, but the sadness that came with such structure. Even more the triviality of it all. Is this really what he needed or was this just another distraction? A list of bullshit for him to feel less shitty about letting himself become nothing. The thing that scared him the most was questioning if he’d have the brains to differentiate the right and wrong paths. After ten years could he continue to trust his own judgement? Most days he could feel how dim his light had become, and maybe that’s what this list had been about. How to get his flame back.
The New Year

The last few weeks have brought lots of excitement for creating and the energy to do so. I finished writing a first draft to a short film, recreated a piece of art from Mike Mignola, made a leather folder for my loose drawing paper, finished editing a comeback episode for my Dreamer’s Circle YouTube channel, and finished two audiobooks (Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, A Court of Thornes & Roses)
